Northside on Mission

Our church is thankful to have many members and former members who now serve the Lord as full-time missionaries. It is our goal to participate where God is working, whether it is through prayer and financial support of missionaries and mission organizations, or through going on short-term trips to see the work and serve alongside missionaries on the field.

Metro Baptist Center

Northside has a long-standing relationship with the Metro Baptist Center in downtown Indianapolis. Church members contribute clothing and toiletries to the needy people of our community. Every year at Christmas, Northsiders contribute food for food baskets. Northside members volunteer for special projects as needed.

State Missions

We consider the state of Indiana to be our “Judea” in the Acts 1:8 Challenge. We are actively involved in reaching groups and individuals through church planting and relationship building. Northside supports the work of the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana.

North America

North America is our “Samaria” in the Acts 1:8 Challenge. Whether it’s traveling to Florida to sing for prison inmates or traveling to New York to hand out granola bars on the streets, Northsiders are always up for the challenge to show the love of Christ.

International Missions

Groups and individuals from our church have gone and continue to go on short-term trips to encourage and assist missionaries. The emphasis of each trip can vary. Some go to help with medical needs or teaching children. Others may go to prayer-walk and interact with the people. The common theme of every trip is to look for opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus with those who don’t know Him. Members may apply for assistance for missions travel through the BJ Higgins Missions Fund.

Many members of our church have been called to serve as missionaries in other countries. Northside currently has missionaries in several countries, as well as those who serve in stateside roles of missionary support.

Northside supports international missions through the International Mission Board with gifts to the Cooperative Program and through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions.
